Group Exercise

At Lake Park Swim & Fitness we are proud to offer an extensive variety of group exercise classes to accommodate both the beginner and the experienced fitness fanatic. By offering over 65 hours of classes weekly from sunrise to sunset, you are sure to find a class that will motivate, challenge and reward you with results.

We feel so strongly about the benefits of group exercise.  At LPSF, classes are part of your membership fee and there’s no need to sign up or register in advance – simply drop into a class as your schedule allows.

In addition to scheduled “free-style” classes such as Cardio-Kickboxing, Amp’d Up Sculpt, Butts n’ Gutts, Cycle, Core, Water Aerobics  and Zumba, Lake Park Swim & Fitness is also a licensed Les Mills facility offering  BODYATTACK, BODYFLOW, BODYPUMP and BODYSTEP. Attending a group exercise class is like having your own “fitness coach” for a one-hour workout – a perfect way to stay motivated, have fun and make new friends!

Les Mills ™     

Lake Park Swim & Fitness brings you variety, intensity and fun to group exercise by offering Les Mills classes to our members. Currently we offer BODYPUMP, BODYATTACK, BODYSTEP and BODYFLOW classes throughout the week, and all these classes are included in your membership.

The Les Mills program gives you a “new” class every three months as instructors learn and then share new choreography and new music with class participants – this keeps the classes fresh and fun. Fitness success is the result of passionate instructors who coach and inspire awesome workouts, great music and effective movement, and Lake Park members benefit from all of these with the Les Mills classes!

Les Mills has created worldwide attention with an innovative and motivating approach to group exercise class and we look forward to helping you change the way you think about fitness by experiencing one of the following classes:

Amp’d Up Sculpt – 60 minutes –Muscle sculpting taken to a whole new level! You’ll challenge your body with fun, unique strength and toning moves using hand weights, stability balls, body bars and tubes. The bonus comes in the form of a cardio peaks or intervals throughout the workout for added calorie and fat burn.

Aqua Challenge – 60 minutes – Want a new cardio kick? This is a high intensity water interval class that combines water resistance training and water running along with timed lap swimming. Compete against yourself or other class participants and be prepared to see results!

Aqua Fit - 60 minutes - This class is a fun, energetic combination of cardio intervals with all over body toning and conditioning using water resistance with bands, noodles, balls and more. Great for all levels and all abilities!

Aqua Intense – 60 minutes – If you’ve been doing Aqua Fit and are ready for more of a challenge, this it’s time to check out Aqua Intense. This class will challenge you using many of the same movements and exercises of Aqua Fit but with longer intervals and a bit more intensity!

BodyAttack – 60 minutes - A high-energy, calorie-consuming athletic workout that will push you past the limit with strong, simple moves and pumping music. This is the most intense workout you'll find in the world of fitness – guaranteed to make you want more!

BodyFlow – 60 minutes - A class that reinforces flexibility and strength, combining the best of Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates. Truly a fitness class for the 21st Century, BODYFLOW brings mind and body into perfect harmony. Try this revolutionary, holistic approach to fitness.

BodyPump – 60 minutes - A rapid fat-burning class that uses barbells to give you the fastest way to tone and condition muscles! After an exhaustive study, BODYPUMP was verified by The University of Auckland as providing the fastest body fat loss of any fitness class.

BodyStep – 60 minutes - The ultimate way to give your body a high energy cardio blast and tone the hips and thighs. With over 2,000 steps per session you'll see results in record time. Get in step with one of the best fitness classes the world has to offer.

Butts n’ Gutts – 60 minutes - A sculpting and toning class focused on mid/core section and lower body (glutes, hamstrings and quads). A variety of equipment and exercises will be used to strengthen, tighten, tone and sculpt “problem” areas in a fun and motivating way!

CardioKick – 45 to 60 minutes - A fun, intense upper and lower body workout focused on combining moves from karate and kickboxing. You are instructed on safe and efficient moves set to the rhythm of music. A great way to tone muscles, improve core stability and burn calories. AM classes are 45 minutes and PM classes are 60 minutes.

Core Complete – 60 minutes - If a lean, strong and toned midsection is what you desire, then come to this class where we focus on Pilates, core and strength moves to benefit both your abs and your lower back. Core Complete Lite – a slightly lower intense version; great for beginners!

Group Cycle/Sunrise Cycle – 60 minutes - Cycling focused on strength and stamina designed around music and choreographed “scenery” including hills, curves and long flat fast sections of road.

Music, Muscles and Motion (previously Castrada) – 60 minutes - An interval class that combines all the best of cardio, strength and dance. Don’t let the dance fool you – it’s traditional low impact aerobics at it’s best. A great workout for your whole body regardless of age or ability.

Pilates – 45 minutes - A gentle but focused mat-based class that tones, stretches, and strengthens the body in a non-impact, balanced system of body-mind exercise and mobilizes the body to move with maximum efficiency and minimum effort. A great compliment to a fitness routine and designed to improve your posture, core strength and flexibility.

Step n’ Sculpt – 60 minutes – A great total body workout that will include muscle sculpting and toning along with low impact cardio movement using a step. The step intervals will be very basic and a great introduction into step aerobics and the sculpting will be done with hand weights, bands, tubes and balls. This class is sure to be fun, yet appropriately challenging for all ages and abilities.

Total Body Conditioning (previously Step n’ Sculpt) – 60 minutes - A hi/low intensity cardio and sculpting class that gets your heart pumping with interval challenges that may include boot camp like moves, a treadmill or bikes with intervals of sculpting both upper and lower body using hand weights, bands, balls and body bars. Wake to the challenge and get your day and heart started with a total body workout!

Yoga 101 (previously YogaFit) – 60 minutes – Improve your strength, flexibility and balance while experiencing the stress-relieving benefits of yoga in a beginners environment. In addition to learning basic poses and breathing techniques, you’ll gain stress relief for your body and your mind.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga – 60 minutes – Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” In other words, you will be instructed to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is sometimes also called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. ($5/class or Unlimited Monthly Yoga for $25)

Zumba Fitness

Zumba – 60 minutes - A fusion of Latin and international music and dance moves that create a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness program! Combine fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt your body while burning calories and having tons of fun!
